Taste Traditions of Wisconsin: Breweries of Wisconsin with Jerry Apps (Sold Out)
Wednesday, May 08, 2013 6:30–9 pm
Explore the rich culinary history, delicious indigenous ingredients, and remarkable foodways of Wisconsin. Celebrate Madison Craft Beer Week and join award-winning author Jerry Apps as he tells the story of the Dairy State's other major industry: beer. Discover how German immigrants brought beer to Wisconsin and spawned the creation of nearly 200 breweries, how Prohibition nearly ended the industry, and how a new wave of microbreweries and brewpubs in Wisconsin is bringing beer back to its delicious roots. A sampling of Potosi Brewing Company beers and a pub-style dinner by Brocach will complement the presentation. A book signing will follow the program. This event is being held in conjunction with Madison Craft Beer Week.
Registration for this event is now closed. If you would like to be added to our Taste Traditions of Wisconsin e-mail list to receive information about upcoming Taste events, please email Ellen Pincus.
