Beer, Hides and Kulturpolitik: The Rise and Fall of German Immigrants in Old Milwaukee

Learn about the stunning success experienced by German immigrants in certain areas of commerce, culture and politics in 19th-century Milwaukee and their ultimate failure to maintain a leading position. This lecture will be presented by retired history professor, Rosemarie Lester.
"History Sandwiched In" is an informal, brown-bag lunch-and-lecture series held the first and third Tuesdays of the month. You are invited to bring a lunch and enjoy a program of historical perspective.
