Thinking Like a Historian
The Wisconsin Historical Museum practices the “Thinking Like a Historian: Rethinking History Instruction” (TLH) inquiry-based educational theory. TLH provides a common language among educators and students. The theory allows for the historical process to be combined with historical categories of inquiry which promotes historical literacy.
Wisconsin Model Academic Standards
Wisconsin Historical Museum field trips support and enhance core language arts standards while uniquely providing a different learning environment for students. Museum programs support “Common Core English Language Arts Standards for Reading: Informational Text and Speaking and Listening.”
