PARKING & DIRECTIONS
The Historical Museum is conveniently located on the Capitol Square in downtown Madison.
Parking is recommended in the following lots:
- State Street Capitol Garage (one block north of the Museum)
- Overture Center Garage (two blocks west of the Museum)
- Buckeye Lot.
City of Madison Metro Transit buses serving the Capitol Square are 2-7, 12, 15, 23, 38, 70, and 72.
ACCESSIBILITY & SAFETY
We care about your safety! Please make sure to stay home if you’re sick and follow these CDC guidelines when you visit us.
The Wisconsin Historical Museum is fully accessible by wheelchair. Visitors with limited mobility may be dropped off and picked up directly in front of the Museum on Carroll Street.
While no pets are allowed in the museum, service animals are permitted for persons with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
No guns, knives, or weapons allowed on premises.
Wisconsin Historical Museum may occasionally photograph or video visitors for educational and promotional use. Attendance on premises constitutes implied consent for use of the visitors’ likeness in Wisconsin Historical Museum and Wisconsin Historical Society educational and promotional materials.
