The History Maker Space is a temporary space for our continued programming on Capitol Square where we are hosting pop-up exhibits, author talks, public programs and history center sneak peeks during the construction of the new building.

New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve Day

the History Maker space is two rooms with a small separation located in the north quadrant of the building. Closest entrances are on S. Webster for the education space and  E Washington for the retail space.

Field Trips

We are excited to continue to offer hands-on history field trips at the History Maker Space during the construction of Wisconsin’s new history center. Through an expanded interactive classroom, where young learners will become history makers themselves as they design their own museum exhibits.

Summer Camps

Give your kids a history-making summer experience through interactive summer camps for all ages hosted at the History Maker Space! They’ll get hands-on with history and travel back in time through fun activities and interactive learning experiences, making memories that last a lifetime.


Accessibility & Safety

US Bank Plaza, and by extension the History Maker Space, has two handicapped parking spaces near the elevator vestibules. Entryways are ADA compliant. There is also a wheelchair lift to the conference rooms.
While no pets are allowed in US Bank Plaza, service animals are permitted for persons with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
No guns, knives, or weapons allowed on premises.
By entering a Wisconsin Historical Society site, including the History Maker Space, guests grant the Wisconsin Historical Society the right to film, video, record or photograph them on State of Wisconsin property for any reason without payment or consideration.
